I’ve always been drawn to things with a past.
Old treasures tucked away in forgotten boxes.
Worn silver.
Mismatched jewellery.
Sea glass shaped by decades of tides.
Digging up old bottles and pieces of forgotton pottery.
Things that others may overlook but for me still have stories left to tell.
I suppose that’s how I was raised.
Growing and making things instead of always buying new.
Repairing rather than replacing.
Caring for nature and respecting what already exists.
Finding beauty in the old, the weathered and the imperfect.
Being creative with what you already have.
After more than 30 years working in healthcare, I found myself burnt out. Years spent caring for others had left very little space to care for myself. Somewhere along the way I had lost pieces of who I was.
Then I discovered silversmithing.
What started as a course and creative outlet quickly became something much more. As I learned how to reshape metal, restore forgotten treasures and transform broken pieces into something beautiful again, I found I was quietly doing the same for myself.
By Glorya was born from that journey.
Today, every piece I create is handcrafted from solid recycled precious metals, reclaimed gemstones, sea glass and forgotten treasures already in circulation.
Nothing here is newly mined. I believe the most beautiful materials in the world have already been found.
All of the stones and materials I work with have lived other lives before they reach my bench. Some arrive as broken heirlooms, single earrings without their partners, damaged jewellery or treasures long forgotten in drawers.
I love imagining where they have been, who wore them, what they have witnessed, and what stories they still have left to tell.
Through fire, hammer and imagination, they are given a new beginning.
By Glorya is built on the belief that nothing and no one should be discarded simply because they are worn, broken or not quite perfect.
Every piece carries a story of transformation.
Perhaps that’s why I love making them so much.
Because sometimes the most beautiful things emerge when the broken pieces are carefully put back together.
Reclaimed silver. Forgotten gemstones. New stories waiting to be worn.

I am registered with the Guild of Jewellery Designers and the Sheffield assay office where my jewellery gets sent off to be hallmarked with my makers mark and the mark of the metal used, as per hallmarking rules and regulations.
